Lazren

Page history last edited by Demonskunk 12 years, 8 months ago

The Lazren are a race of under-dwelling lizard folk. They Love to experiment with new things, and new ways to make old things work. They love it underground, but also like to stretch their legs and explore above ground.

Personality:

Lazren are curious, like their Mierden cousins, and have forayed into technology, though the complexities of Mierden tech is a little over their heads yet. Lazren people love to enterprise, even more so than humans in fact. Lazren love it when travelers stop in their town, and often give them special privileges, inviting them to participate in studies, experiments and their favorite sport. It’s called Grub Hunting. At least once a month they hold an all day hunting party. Groups of 3 or less Lazren, or other races, go on a search for adult Crypt Grubs, the group that brings back the most getting a generous prize.

Physical Description:

Lazren are short, like Mierden, standing about 5’ tall. They’re a bit more muscular than their Mierden cousins, because they’re more suited for life on land. Their bodies are still rather thing, however, making them fast, but a little weaker than some. They have streamlined bodies, and like the Mierden, do not require clothes, though a warm cloak and loose fitting outfit warms them, in their cool underground dwellings. Their legs are either Digitigrade or Plantigrade. The tips of their digits are tipped with heavy claws. Their hands are more dainty, giving them an easier time working with small devices, and the arts. Atop their heads they have a large crest that could resemble a mohawk, or that travels down to their back, usually having membrane that is lighter in color than their scales. At birth, their scales take on a hue similar to the objects in contact with it, so they will tattoo their children at an early age with distinguishing markings, that will stay when the materials are removed.

Relations:

Lazren relationships are usually trading relationships. They find that the best friends to have are financial friends. They do value other relations as well, and live in extremely close contact with Molgren, and their Mierden cousins.

Alignment:

Like their Mierden cousins, Lazren people are often neutral. Taking sides is bad for business.

Lazren lands:

Lazren live underground, but unlike the Molgren people, they keep their caves in more of an above ground manner. A special type of grass, blue-green in color, grows underground, that they use to keep the soil covered. They sometimes carve skylights into the ceiling, filled with either magic illumination, Iridescent orbs made by the Mierden, or actually open to the sun. Their dwellings are much less quaint than the Molgren as well, preferring buildings built from bricks and wood, to the crude huts Molgren live in.

Religion:

The Lazren warship Gaia, and give thanks to her for their well being, and the water goddess for keeping their soil moist and fertile.

Language:

Lazren speak Common, Lazren and in some cases Molgren. Lazren speech consists of hisses, grunts, and common-like sounds, it’s script is very runic, looking similar to Myr, but none of the characters meaning the same.

Names:

Lazren names are often gentle names inspired by the land

Example names:

 Reef, Mree, Rushe, Brinde, Arke

Adventures:

Lazren adventurers are overly curious. And this curiosity can get them into a lot of trouble if no one is there to protect them. A typical lazren adventurer usually journeys out to find new lands, a mate, or just a good time.
